ARTICLE I: NAME & PURPOSE
Section A: Name - The name of this organization shall be DOOSTAN SOCIAL CLUB.
Section B: Purpose - The purpose of this organization shall be:
To promote friendship and networking amongst members through social gatherings and events.To provide a base to which members can turn to for help and assistance in domestic and business affairs. To engage in charitable causes mainly in the field of education in Iran. To encourage and advance Iranian art and culture in the club's activities and events.ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP & DUES
Section A: Eligibility - Membership shall be open to professionals whose name is to be submitted by an existing member the club and to be granted by the executive committee and upon payment of the dues as outlined in Section C.
Section B: Restrictions - No person will be restricted because of age, race, creed, colour, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, national origin, ancestry, marital status, arrest record, or conviction record.
Section C: Dues - Dues shall be £100 per year for the year 2008. This can change if voted by the Steering group.
ARTICLE III: OFFICERS
Section A: Officers - The officers shall be a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, secretary and Treasurer.
Section B: Eligibility - The president shall be an existing member of the club.
Section C: Election - The officers shall be elected by ballot every three months. by a majority of the vote cast for that office.
Section D: Term - The officers shall serve for three months and their term of office shall begin at the end of the meeting.
Section E: Vacancy - If a vacancy occurs in the office of Chairman, the Vice-Chairman shall assume the office for the remainder of his term and vacancies in any other office shall be filled by a special election.
Friendship, Charity, Promotion of Persian Art and Education
Doostan Social Club is a UK-based club that was founded in December 2000 as a gathering of Iranian friends of various backgrounds, professions and interests. The club encourages its members to socialise, network and assist each other. The club also aims to promote Persian Art in the UK, and, education in the far reaches of Iran.
